Empowering Young Minds Where It Matters Most

Project Balyasora is a thoughtful and community-driven CSR initiative by Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, Chairperson and Managing Director of Pride East Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. The initiative was launched to support children from ethnic communities living in remote regions where literacy levels remain low.

The idea behind Balyasora was to create a safe and welcoming space for children to learn essential skills in the evening hours. The program focuses on literacy, numeracy, life skills, and building a strong foundation for further education and development.

The first Balyasora school was established in Sonapur, a village in the Mazbat area of Udalguri district, with a special focus on serving children from the Adivasi community. On April 18, 2025, the school officially opened its doors with overwhelming support from over 700 villagers and their children.

Today, around 200 children aged 5 to 17 attend Balyasora classes every evening from 4 PM to 5:30 PM, six days a week. The classes are led by community-based tutors—college students and young adults from the same areas—who act as relatable mentors and guides.

The initiative serves a diverse group of learners, including those currently enrolled in nearby schools and those who have dropped out. Balyasora helps reintegrate out-of-school children into a positive learning environment where they can grow academically and socially.

Subjects taught include English, Assamese, Mathematics, and Science, with plans to introduce motivational sessions and special lectures by inspiring personalities. The school is fully community-managed, with three key committees:

With strong community participation and local leadership, Balyasora is more than a school—it is a movement to empower children and nurture their potential.

The next Balyasora center is already underway in Majuli, continuing the mission to bring education closer to every child who needs it.
